Aftercare

1.No peeking

Keep the bandage on your tattoo for 3–12 hours. Rule of thumb: leave bandage on overnight, then remove it the morning after your tattoo appointment.

2.
Mind the mess

Remove bandage at home. Wash well with hot water and clean hands to remove excess blood, ink and/or plasma.

3. Don’t be hasty

Keep dry while healing.Take only short showers and donot submerge your healing tattoo. No baths, swimming or hot tubs.

4A. Small-scale and Black & Grey tattoos

Use unscented, water-based moisturizer twice a day.

4B. Large-scale and heavily coloured tattoos

Use Eucerin Aquaphor for the first four days after your appointment in thin layers, twice a day, until your tattoo starts to flake. Then switch to an unscented, water-based moisturizer twice a day.

5.Keep it hid

Stay out of direct sunlight and avoid tanning during the healing process, otherwise it can result in discolouration of your tattoo. After your tattoo is healed, always use sunscreen to avoid sun damage.

6.
Take it Easy

Take a break from exercising for up to 5 days after getting tattooed. Gyms, hot yoga/fitness are the worst places for a fresh tattoo: excessive sweat and movement in the area you are healing can cause infection or irritation.

If you happen to sweat at work or otherwise, please make sure to clean your tattoo as soon as you get home.

It will get itchy! Do not pick or scratch your healing tattoo.

Stay out of all bodies of water (oceans, rivers, pools, hot tubs, etc.) for 2 weeks after your appointment.
